Queen Anne's Lace (Wild Carrot Seed), Violet, and Elderflower, the Queen flowers of our land, come together in this light, non-greasy, hydrating, and moisturizing face cream. We extracted the fragrant flowers and seed heads of Queen Anne's Lace via artisan steam distillation, which produced a sweet, vibrant, floral essential oil and hydrosol. The Elderflowers were extracted with two different methods producing an extract, and a hydrosol. And finally the Violet Flower and Leaves were extracted to produce a glycerite and extract. I've combined the extractions and hydrosols with sourced Blueberry Seed Oil, Plum Seed Oil, and Jojoba Oil. Everything is combined with a natural, vegetable based, ecocertified emulsifier, and preserved with a natural, ecocertified, cosmetic preservative.
Queen Anne's Lace, also known as Carrot Seed or Wild Carrot, is antioxidant and vitamin rich. It contains vitamin A, C, and E. Vitamin A is the precursor to retinol. Vitamin A helps immensely with cell turnover, new skin cells, and collagen production. Queen Anne's Lace has been used in skincare for over a century, and can be traced back to Europe. Queens and royalty revered it's skincare properties, and it is still used to this day to even skin tone, gently exfoliate, and tighten pores. This cream contains 3 extractions, our own artisan distilled essential oil and hydrosol, and a wildcrafted, sourced pressed oil, to gain all of the benefits the plant has to offer. Queen Anne's Lace was named after Queen Anne of England. She loved the flower so much, she had a lace produced to match the flower. Legend has it, Queen Anne had a servant who created a special face cream for her from the flower, and she refused to use anything but that.
Violet Flower and Leaf provides natural salicylic acid. Salicylic acid helps fight acne, gently exfoliates to reveal smooth, soft skin, and because we use our hand rafted extraction, naturally derived from the violet plant, it is suitable for all skin types, and is not irritating like the synthetic form. Violet Flower and Leaf also offer cooling properties, and makes application of this cream feel wonderful on the skin. French Empress Josephine, Napoleons wife, adored the violet. She is known for wearing violet perfume, created specifically for her by her royal perfumer, but less known, is how she also loved to use violets in her skincare.
Elderflower, like Queen Anne's Lace, has been used for over a century in skincare and cosmetics. In skincare it provides gentle astringency to unclog and tighten pores, and also works to exfoliate sun damage and discoloration. The flower is named Elderflower, because the plant is ancient, has a wife range of uses, and can be found all over the world. Rumor had it many Queens and Royalty used the flower in their daily skincare.
