Forest Nymph Skin Food ~Spring Edition

2 oz in a reusable, green glass jar. Shelf Life: Best used within 6 months of purchase. An expiration date will be indicated on the bottom of the jar. 
The tall, regal elder bushes tower over the violets at forests edge. My woven willow harvest basket half full of violet leaves, I turn my gaze to the just blossomed elderflower. A few different varieties sending their magnificent plumes of flowers throughout the growing season, at least one of the species flowering at any given time. Like a Forest Nymph, I spring from bush to bush, collecting their creamy white blossoms, to create a precious essence. As I stretch to harvest the plumes of blooms, my love, Dusty, holds their stems down low, so my daughter and I can reach their flowers more easily. Once our basket is full, we make our way deeper into the forest. Dusty uses his gentle method to collect golden balsam fir sap from the fresh spring blisters plump with the golden elixir, as I stand ready with my glass vessel, to collect the jammy, sweet liquid. Once we have collected the secret ingredients, we head back down the beaten path, through the forest, to the meadow full of Spring violets.
Violet flower and leaf Glycerite and Hydrosol-the natural salicylic acid within the flower and leaf renews and increases cell turnover of dead skin cells, and the beautiful skin loving nutrients and antioxidants feed skin. This extract gives the cream a cooling, soothing property. 
Elderflower Extract- Improves the complexion, gently astringent, refines pores and tightens skin. Known to lighten hyperpigmentation, and condition skin. Elderflower was once widely used in skincare, and is recently making a comeback.
Raw Fir Balsam Resin- the lifeforce of the tree and food for skin. Amazing healing properties; anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial.
Spring Propolis Extract (rich with Poplar and Spruce Resins)-my favorite skincare ingredient. A gift from the honey bees. Our honey bees collect resins from the native trees and plants. This propolis is rich in poplar bud and spruce resin due to the bees collecting it in Spring. Propolis has recently become a popular ingredient in skincare. I've been using it for over a decade, it's that good. 
Fresh Blueberry Seed Oil- This vibrant green Blueberry Seed Oil is lightweight, and packed with antioxidants and skin loving lipids. It is lightly fragrant, and reminiscent of the fruit. 
Plum Seed Oil- Silky, lightweight Plum Seed Oil is full of vitamins and nutrients the skin needs to flourish. It's yummy, fruity scent is akin to plums and is truly decadent. 
Chia Seed Butter- creamy, decadent, and fast absorbing. Chia Seed Butter- is used in this formulation for not only to press the oils, but also chock-full of important saturated fatty acids, which are both integral to maintaining healthy skin cells and preventing the harmful effects of free radical damage. In other words, it packs a punch in skin care! 
All of these beautiful, organic ingredients are formulated and  emulsified into a lovely cream using an Ecocert Olive derived emulsifier, and due to the inclusion of the botanical extractions and hydrosol, it is properly preserved with Ecocert Preservative Geogard.
The scent of this cream is solely from the botanical extractions within the formulation. The fragrance is decadent,  honeyed floral with the jammy fir and the sweet scent of the berry oils in the background. The fragrance is not overpowering, is quite pleasing, and dissipates quickly after application. 
I create this cream every season with the native botanicals that are available from our forest and meadow. This is my Spring formulation.
