Sphinx: Nocturnal Lure~Solid Perfume

The Sphinx Moth, an ancient symbol of the nocturnal. The Sphinx emerge from their sleep on the trunks of the trees, to feed on fragrant night blooming flowers.
 
I imbued my Angel Wing Jasmine Enfleurage with the sweet scent of ambergris, by first fixing the enfleurage pomade with ambergris infused oil, before the flowers were laid upon the pomade. This imprinted the scent upon the pomade, not only helping to capture the scent of the angel wing jasmine, but also lending it's alluring, otherworldly scent. The ambergris imbued angel wing jasmine enfleurage was gently warmed along with my most potent gardenia enfleurage. I blended in my handcrafted ghost pipe flower absolute, an ode to the forest where the Sphinx moth roams. The final touch is an attar of sorts. I created the attar by evaporating the extrait of my Jasmine enfleurage with tincture of Hawaiian Sandalwood. The resulting absolute was combined with organic sandalwood essential oil, distilled from plantation grown trees. I poured the silky formula into handcrafted wooden vessels, created by my other half, Dustin, from a broken branch, harvested from our forest after a windstorm during hurricane season. The vessel is created from the very trees the Sphinx moth rest on, their patterns like camouflage blending into the tree trunks, taking cover from predators.
 
This solid perfume is sensual and potent. It is a tribute to the Sphinx Moth. An ode to the Sphinx Moth and the flowers in which they frequent upon the petals.
 
The Sphinx Moths pollinate the night blooming flowers, their proboscis/tongue long enough to fit into the most slender flower nectar canals, and as they do so their eye catching wings carry the flower pollen from blossom to blossom, helping to fertilize the flowers, to create seeds for the next generation of flowers.
This perfume is the scent of those flowers, the Nocturnal Lure that calls the moth to the night blooming flowers for a long drink of nectar. The Sphinx moths love jasmines and gardenias, and I catch sight of many feeding on their flowers at night after they'd opened.
 
Handcrafted Extractions of; Angel Wing Jasmine (Jasminum nitidum), Grand Duke Jasmine (Jasminum Sambac), French Perfume Jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum), Gardenia (Gardenia Jasminoides), Ambergris, Ghost Pipe Flower, Hawaiian Sandalwood, with sourced Organic Mysore Sandalwood.
 
The enfleurage pomades in which the flowers are laid upon are created with Shea Nilotica Butter, Jojoba Oil and Raw Beeswax from our organic honey bee hives.
